August 2, 2010; Source: Press of Atlantic City | South Jersey Legal Services plans to lay off a third of its staff by the end of the year, including a quarter of its lawyers due to waning funding in the state’s legal trust fund accounts. The cuts will result in 3,500 fewer people served. The Nonprofit Newswire covered the NewJersey.com story where it was reported that the funds that fed the Interest on Lawyer’s Trust Fund Account had plummeted eighty percent between 2008 and 2009.—Ruth McCambridge
