December 2, 2010; Source: CNN.com | The super secret and nomad-like WikiLeaks—itself dedicated to promoting transparency—will have some of the details of its budget revealed in the near future through a report to be published by the Berlin-based Wau-Holland Foundation. The foundation handles donations for the group. WikiLeaks reportedly raised $1 million over the past year. In the past the group has said that its operating costs are $200,000, but these may have increased to somewhere in the neighborhood of $600,000 if staff is being paid. WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, has said the group will be spending some money this year on the defense of PFC Bradley Manning who passed the recently released classified cables along to the group, as well as the dump that produced the Afghan War Diaries. The Wau Holland Foundation is, itself, run by volunteers.—Ruth McCambridge
