January 11, 2011; Source: Tampa Bay | Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida which is home to 120 formerly abused and abandoned ‘exotic” cats, is being widely lauded for its use of social media which includes its own YouTube channel – Big Cat TV.  Click here for an interview with Big Cat Rescue’s Carole Baskin who, among other things, discusses the rationale for and strategies of the organization’s full time videographer.  Says Baskin, “We try very hard to take advantage of every opportunity that social media can give us . . . We are proud that Big Cat Rescue is the all-time 6th most viewed and 7th most subscribed non-profit on YouTube. Social media allows us to educate and inform the public about the many issues involving exotic cats and the all-too-common abuse they suffer here in America and around the world.”—Ruth McCambridge
