Camden’s Child Care Centers Billed for Taxes

March 1, 2011; Source: | The city of Camden, N.J. has chosen to try to boost its revenues by sending out property tax bills to nonprofit child care centers, according to The city confoundingly says it was wrong not to have billed them previously.

Child care centers, of course, often operate on a very slim margin, so this new bill could be a serious threat. But why the child care centers as opposed to say, private schools?
