November2, 2011; Source: ABC NewsSome “charity stories” are just too bizarre, especially when linked to reality TV.

ABC News is reporting that the Dream Foundation, which is described as making dreams come true for terminally ill adults, is the lucky recipient of the value of all wedding gifts received on the happy occasion of the nuptials between Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries.

Dream Foundation President Thomas W. Rollerson reported over e-mail that “ALLOT” of money is involved, but that generous amount apparently does not include ”the money she reportedly made from selling the media rights to her wedding.” Kardashian is reported to have made the following from her 72-day marriage:

  • $2.5 million she got from People;
  • Between $12 and $15 million for the E! TV special about her nuptials; and
  • Hundreds of thousands of dollars for selling exclusive rights to her engagement announcement, bridal shower, and bachelorette party.

The New York Times has reported that, when you break it down, the couple made $10,358.80 per hour of marriage, so we hope that the donation was really really healthy. There should be some way to calculate the worth of the PR value from a move like this so that you could deduct that from the actual donation she may declare at the end of the year.
