Here is an intriguing nugget of an article by Kathi Jaworski for your consideration and comment. It takes on the differences in leadership in OWS that are showing up in urban and rural settings.

For me this was timely, because not only am I watching the OWS phenomenon pretty closely in these final days of the supercommittee’s failure, but also because it attaches to a conversation I found myself having with a friend last night. I was telling him that as someone who had grown up organizing in Boston in the sixties and seventies, it was not until I went to Kansas that I found a base of people who knew how to work together over a long period without lapsing into mutual vicious combat. It was a revelation to me, and I learned an enormous amount.

So something about Kathi’s analysis resonated for me, but of course I know better than to generalize from my own narrow experience. So we would like to hear from you. What do you think about Kathi’s analysis of the differences between OWS in urban and rural settings and her suggestions about what we may need to consider as the work moves forward?
