As the summer season winds down, NPQ staff are taking a much-needed break—and we are taking this time to share some we’ve published so far this year that have resonated with us.
I have been reflecting a lot on how people are working to organize and build power, despite everything that is happening across the country—and I wanted to showcase this in the stories I curated. It certainly has been a long year, and there is much work ahead—but the work is not impossible to accomplish. The stories I have selected include examples of the powerful organizing work that is being done in the South. They include stories about the importance of centering tenant unions and how groups are organizing against homelessness. And they include an interview that imagines how we create a better, more inclusive world.
