Ana P. Novais currently serves as the Acting Secretary for the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A clinical psychologist by training, she began her public health care career in her native Cape Verde in 1985, followed by five years in Portugal. She has lived and worked in the United States since 1995.
