Belén Marco is the Narrative Strategy Director at the New Economy Coalition. She was born and raised in La Pobla de Vallbona, a small town near Valencia, to a working-class family of agricultural workers that were targeted by the Spanish dictatorship. Belén comes to the solidarity economy movement with a background in communications, cultural strategy, and popular education. She has led and designed arts and cultural programs for community-based initiatives in Guatemala, Ecuador, and rural Appalachia.
