Charles Stephens is the founder and Executive Director of The Counter Narrative Project (CNP). He is also co-editor of the anthology Black Gay Genius: Answering Joseph Beam’s Call (Vintage Entity Press) and of the forthcoming collection, Race, Justice, and HIV: Visions for a Society Without Bars (Springer Press). His writings have appeared in Atlanta Magazine, Lambda Literary Review, Advocate, Creative Loafing, Georgia Voice, and AJC.
