Helena Worthen retired from the University of Illinois Labor Education program in 2010. She has published on labor issues of all sorts, including community college teaching, learning theory applied to workplace organizing and, with Joe Berry, contingent faculty (Power Despite Precarity: Strategies for the Contingent Faculty Movement in Higher Education, Pluto 2021). After retiring she taught for the National Labor College and at Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City. She is currently co-chair of the Media/Comms Committee of HELU.
