John Tropman is the director of leadership in the Community Benefit Organizations Program and Henry J. Meyer Collegiate Professor Emeritus of Social Work, University of Michigan School of Social Work. His most recent publications include The Catholic Ethic in American Society: An Exploration of Values (Jossey-Bass, 1995) and The Catholic Ethic and the Spirit of Community (Georgetown University Press, 2001).
