

Jill Vialet is a social entrepreneur, author, public speaker and organizational design consultant. The founder of Playworks, and co-funder of Oakland Museum of Children’s Art (mocha), Substantial Classrooms and Workswell Design, Jill has worked for more than 30 years in the nonprofit sector. Jill has written two books, Recess Rules, a novel for young readers, and Substantial: Redesigning the Substitute Teaching Experience, which will be published by Jossey-Bass in March, 2021. Jill is an Ashoka Fellow, one of Forbes 30 leading social entrepreneurs and recognized by the Women’s Sports Foundation as one of 40 Women Leaders.
