

Tamara El-Khoury is the director of the Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP), the nation’s only Arab American Community Foundation. Tamara is a first-generation Lebanese American who is passionate about making philanthropy accessible to all communities and highlighting the power of collective giving to make positive and meaningful change. Before her May 2022 appointment to CAAP, she worked as a nonprofit fundraiser for organizations in Washington, D.C., North Carolina, Minnesota, and Michigan. A former journalist, her strengths include relationship building, finding innovative and creative ways to keep donors engaged, and understanding the importance of compelling storytelling to communicate an organization’s mission.
