November 15, 2011; Source: Wall Street Journal | Second Mile CEO John Raykovitz, a clinical psychologist, resigned on Sunday, according to a report from the board on Monday. Mr. Raykovitz declined to comment beyond a short written statement, because, he says, the focus should be on the children and families that have been affected by the alleged abuse: “Their pain and their healing is the greatest priority, and my thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with them.” The nonprofit has announced that it will conduct an internal investigation.

According to a grand jury report, Raykovitz had been told about the Penn State 2002 shower incident but continued to pay Sandusky almost $60,000 a year in consulting fees through 2008.—Ruth McCambridge
