Hey buddy! Wanna Buy a Grant?

March 7, 2011; Source: Fox 5 News Los Vegas | In a strange twist of a scam, small businesses in Nevada are being approached by phone with offers of federal or corporate grant money if they pay a fee to the caller to write the required grant request. In a gratuitous bit of cruelty, the scammers also sometimes recommend that the business re-incorporate as a nonprofit. There is, of course, nothing at all at the end of this rainbow.—Ruth McCambridge
