
As the Senior Advisor for Disability Inclusion, Catherine Hyde Townsend leads the Ford Foundation’s intersectional approach to disability in its grantmaking and operations. She works to build disability cultural competence and connect disability to broader social justice issues, such as racial and gender justice. Before joining Ford, Catherine worked as a senior program officer for human rights at the Wellspring Philanthropic Fund. In 2007, she helped launch the Disability Rights Fund, serving as the co-chair of the Board of Directors for more than a decade. She currently serves as the Board President of Women Enabled International.
