A native New Yorker and Brooklynite, Jazmyn Blackburn joined Regional Plan Association (RPA) as a Research Associate in 2021 and became an Associate Planner in 2022. Prior to joining RPA, Jazmyn worked as a kindergarten teacher and educator. She has experience in classroom teaching and co-teaching, research, curriculum development, and supervising. Her interest in urban planning stemmed from her passion to improve access to resources in urban schools for children of all ages and backgrounds. Trained as a language teacher, Jazmyn understands the importance of the language of law and advocacy in policymaking, as well as the power of using communication to bridge the achievement gap between advantaged and disadvantaged communities. Jazmyn received her B.A. in Sociology from Princeton University in 2019 with certificates in Urban Studies, Cognitive Science, Linguistics, and French Language & Culture. She received her M.P.P. degree from the Sciences Po Urban School in Paris, France, in 2022, specializing in urban migration.
