March 7, 2010; KVVU TV | By the nature of their work, prostitutes typically provide feel-good services to their fellow men. So, why should anyone be surprised that sex workers at Nevada’s Chicken Ranch, are planning to donate what the brothel’s Web site calls “items of a personal nature” for a charity auction. Proceeds will go to the nonprofit Asta Philpot Foundation, which Las Vegas television station KVVU describes as an “organization that raises awareness of the emotional and sexual needs” of people with disabilities. According to the brothel’s manager, Debbie Rivenburgh, the Chicken Ranch, has always “made it a high priority to accommodate” people with disabilities. Looks like that tradition isn’t going to be put to bed anytime soon.—Bruce Trachtenberg
