June 22, 2010; Source: Huffington Post | A nonprofit arts group has distributed 60 pianos around New York City as a human rights statement. They are for use for the next two weeks by anyone who wants to sit themselves down and bang out a tune or two. Volunteers unlock the pianos each morning and ensure that all runs smoothly throughout the day. Sing for Hope believes that participation in arts creation is a basic human right.—Ruth McCambridge
