July 13, 2010; Source: NDTV | Apparently the Village People have drawn the line at re-naming their hit song, YMCA, as the equally well-known nonprofit YMCA, in a fit of “branding”, changes its name to a more concise “Y”. In an act of rebellion the Village People have vowed to continue to perform all four letters of their song in their performances. The article quotes the group—”Some things remain iconic and while we admire the organisation for the work they do, we still can’t help but wonder Y.”—Ruth McCambridge
