Former NPQ newswire writer John Brothers has been named president both for the T. Rowe Price Foundation and the T. Rowe Price Program for Charitable Giving, which is a donor-advised fund. He follows Ann Allston Boyce, who is retiring after 14 years at the two nonprofit organizations founded by T. Rowe Price.

NPQ would like to thank him for his voluntary service to the sector in being a stalwart on our newswire team for the past few years. Brothers brought to his work with NPQ a well-informed interest in the conundrums of nonprofit management and governance, which we imagine will be of real benefit to grantees and donors alike. He also has a profound interest in homelessness and the problems of marginalized people. We expect to see great things from him.

The T. Rowe Price Foundation primarily supports communities where T. Rowe Price has offices by awarding direct grants and matching associate donations. At the T. Rowe Price Program for Charitable Giving, Brothers will assist clients in developing and pursuing their philanthropic interests. Since its founding in 2000, The T. Rowe Price Program for Charitable Giving has distributed close to $180 million in grants to public charities, private operating foundations, and government entities.

Brothers remains the chair of the board for the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and an adjunct professor in social welfare policy at Rutgers University and in nonprofit and philanthropic studies at New York University.

Please join us in congratulating him on his new position and T. Rowe Price on making a great hire!—Ruth McCambridge
