In a video on the Human Rights Campaign blog, personal finance guru Suze Orman makes good use of her plain talking, common sense credibility by laying out a strong economic case for marriage equality, using her own marriage as an example. Orman has been married for 12 years to her own wife KT. Orman asserts that greater financial burdens are imposed on same sex couples than on opposite-sex couples. “There’s something radically wrong with that and that has got to change, and it’s got to change now.”
Orman describes her position in life as “absolutely amazing” – the woman has chutzpah like crazy but this is a great use of a celebrity identity!—Ruth McCambridge
