Maile Chand is a mother, community doula, and researcher based out of San Francisco, CA. Her passion for community work is centered on uplifting and transforming the voices and birth experiences of marginalized and oppressed women, birthing people, and families within our medical and public health system. Maile currently serves as an Abundance Coach for the Abundant Birth Project and facilitates support groups for Pacific Islander mamas and birth workers in the Bay Area. She is finishing up her last year at SF State University in the Women & Gender Studies department and plans to pursue a career in midwifery to enhance the birth culture of San Francisco and beyond.
