October 20, 2010; Source: MediaBistro.com | Famed novelist Elizabeth George participated this past month with 35 other authors in a six-day writing marathon at the Richard Hugo House in Seattle where they collaboratively produced a novel, which is to be released next spring. The project is designed to raise funds for literacy and writing projects. The goal of this process, which many watched live online, was a 60,000-word novel, but it exceeded all expectations at 72,000 words. Each author wrote a chapter and then passed it off to the next. Ok, I realize I’m a little wonky, but this sounds like a blast and for an excellent cause. Watch the strange awkward video trailer.—Ruth McCambridge
