Katrina Schaffer (she/they) was born and raised in a wealthy family in Kansas City, MO. Her political home for many years was Resource Generation, where she was initially introduced to and engaged around social justice philanthropy. She spent five years on its board, including multiple years as board co-chair. She now works as a sign language interpreter and helps manage the care of her Disabled sibling. Schaffer is also now actively involved as a member leader of Solidaire Network and is continuing to organize themselves and other wealthy people toward collective liberation. She lives in Oakland, CA, with her partner and two children.
