Sylvana Uribe currently serves as the Communications Director at Long Beach Residents Empowered (LiBRE) in Southern California. Uribe was raised by working-class immigrant parents in Central Long Beach, an area of the city marked by years of redlining practices and housing inequities. Through the use of storytelling, Uribe strives to amplify grassroots movements led by working families and reverse inequities for renters in historically disenfranchised neighborhoods across Long Beach.
