[W]e could create an autonomous value chain and build a coherent movement for economic democracy that would serve as a transformative agent on all scales and scopes of social life in the United States (and beyond). It would not be without its challenges, and it would not be welcomed by many of the dominant economic and social forces in this country—but it would be a force to be reckoned with.
