In Toward a Third Reconstruction, co-produced by NPQ and Dēmos, we feature articles that examine the movement for racial justice in historical perspective—and highlight the need for a Third Reconstruction that builds on the achievements of the First Reconstruction after the US Civil War and the Second Reconstruction of the 1950s and 1960s. The authors in this series articulate why we need bold, courageous action to bring a Third Reconstruction within reach—and offer strategies for systemic change that can help us get there.
