May 10, 2011; Source: Chicago Tribune | Apparently Warren Buffett loves a good steak lunch and he is willing to share it for a small donation of a few mil to GLIDE, one of his favored charities. For the last few years he has allowed the organization, which provides meals and health care services to poor and homeless people in San Francisco, to auction off a lunch with him. Last year someone paid $2.63 million for lunch with Buffett and seven friends.

Nice fundraising if you can get it.

The auction, on eBay's charitable giving site, begins June 5 at 10:30 p.m. EDT and runs through 10:30 p.m. EDT on June 10. Bidding starts at $25,000 and all potential bidders have to prequalify at www.LunchWithWarrenBuffett.com. – Ruth McCambridge
