May 4, 2010; Source: Village Voice  | Poets House is one lucky nonprofit. Not only did Bill Murray make a personal appearance during the construction of their new facility, but the video has gone viral, perhaps making Lower Manhattan’s national poetry library the most popular it’s ever been. But that’s not all.

Because of Soho’s ever-soaring real estate prices, Poets House was forced out of their home in recent years. Fortunately, the Battery Park City Authority entered this bleak picture and designated the nonprofit as a rent-free tenant in a gorgeous new location, leading to the video.

It’s a strangely heartwarming thing, not unlike his typical roles, to see Bill Murray reading Emily Dickinson to a crowd of applauding workers, certainly worth a few minutes of your time.—James David Morgan
