Chelsea Fuller

Chelsea Fuller (she/her) is Senior Strategist and Managing Partner of Black Alder LLC and Co-Executive Director of Black Alder Labs (c3). A journalist, media researcher, narrative scientist, and movement strategist, her work sits at the intersection of narrative, media, and social justice movements. For more than a decade, Chelsea has held senior communications and narrative leadership roles across the progressive left, including Interim Senior Director of Communications at Movement for Black Lives, Vice President of Communications at TIME'S UP, and Deputy Director of Communications at Blackbird. She has led campaigns that shifted national narratives on race, white supremacy, patriarchal violence, and community safety, and has helped journalists cover issues like sexual violence and police violence more accurately. This August, Black Alder Labs released “The Cost of the Story,” a national research study on the toll of reporting racialized and gender-based violence. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, and Essence, among others, and she has advised organizations including Twitter and Planned Parenthood. Chelsea holds a BA from West Virginia University and an MA from American University.
