

Chris Cannito, he/him/his, is a recent social work graduate from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Social Policy and Practice social completing their masters in Non-Profit Leadership. He is passionate about global human rights, public health, decolonizing service in the Global South, as well as promoting anti-racism practices within agencies and interpersonal relationships. Prior to entering graduate school Chris served as Peace Corps Volunteer for three years in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) from 2015-2018. Chris focused on primary literacy, youth development, co-hosted a radio show, and grateful for his second family in SVG. He is interested in the unique role social workers can play when interconnected with media to promote advocacy, action, and discussion on larger social issues. He has experience working on educational justice for immigrant communities throughout Pennsylvania as part of PICC (Pennsylvania Immigration & Citizenship Coalition), as well as housing and homelessness within Philadelphia. Chris currently resides in Philadelphia with his partner who is a special education teacher, and their dog Paprika.
