Esther Maddox

Esther Maddox is the inaugural legal fellow for the Charles Ogletree Reparative Bar Association. A graduate of Columbia Law School and Princeton University, her work sits at the intersection of reparations advocacy, radical imagination, and the law. Originally from the Mojave Desert, Maddox began her legal career in corporate law before returning to her hometown to serve as a tenant defense attorney. As a movement lawyer and artist, her work is rooted in a commitment to building legal strategies, cultural practices, and reparative frameworks that help communities move beyond survival toward collective thriving.
