Karla Walker is the founding executive director of Community Solutions for Health Equity (CSHE). Karla brings more than 28 years of leadership experience across community health, public health, justice reform, racial equity, education advocacy, and community organizing. Her work centers on building programs and opportunities that strengthen the leadership, power, and wisdom of communities whose voices have been systematically oppressed and marginalized. Karla believes that lived experience, combined with collective social action, can deepen institutional accountability and challenge structures that perpetuate harm. Grounded in community-connected practice, she views relationship building, healing, and wellness as pathways to collective power, systems transformation, and the liberation of humanity.
