Lupe Mahida

Lupe Mahida has spent over eighteen years working at the intersections of trans and queer liberation, racial and gender justice, migrant and climate justice, healing justice, and youth leadership development. As Interim Director of the Fund for Trans Generations at Borealis Philanthropy, Lupe has helped move over $18 million in philanthropic resources to BIPOC trans-led organizations across the U.S. and U.S. territories since 2019. Before Borealis, they were part of the team at BreakOUT!, fighting the criminalization of LGBTQ youth of color in New Orleans. Outside of work, Lupe finds joy in cooking, getting to know plants, practicing ancestor reverence, and picking up new crafty skills.
