Marcus Bass is a civic strategist, organizational leader, and advocate who has built his career strengthening community power and civic participation across North Carolina. As executive director of Advance Carolina and North Carolina Black Alliance, he leads statewide efforts that connect grassroots organizing, public policy, leadership development, and civic engagement to create lasting change in Black communities. A North Carolina A&T State University graduate and former educator, Marcus’s career spans public education, voting rights, grassroots organizing, and political strategy. His work is rooted in developing leaders, strengthening communities, and building sustainable civic infrastructure that expands participation and influence across North Carolina and beyond.
