Nico Calavita is professor emeritus in the graduate program in City Planning at San Diego State University. His areas of interest include affordable housing policies, land use planning, land value recapture, and comparative planning. He is coauthor of the 2010 book, Inclusionary Housing in International Perspective: Affordable Housing, Social Inclusion, and Land Value Recapture and was recipient of the 2016 Marilyn Gittell Activist-Scholar Award of the Urban Affairs Association.
