

Stephen Cook has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years, first in local weekly and evening papers in Yorkshire, then as a freelancer and for the BBC World Service. He spent 17 years at the Guardian, working mainly on social affairs subjects and as managing editor (news). After another period as a freelancer, he became editor of Third Sector in 2004.
