The Environmental Justice Oral History Project

The Environmental Justice Oral History Project (EJOHP) works to elevate, preserve, and mobilize the lived experiences of communities across the United States and US South whose stories of environmental racism, resilience, and ancestral connection have long been overlooked. Through community-owned and archived oral histories, long-form journalism, and culturally grounded, multimedia storytelling, we create narrative pathways for intentional, ethical, and deeply rooted engagement among communities, advocates, and institutions. Our mission is to build a human-centered, uplifting storytelling hub that honors intergenerational wisdom, strengthens local power, and advances just and equitable solutions to environmental injustice.
