May 29, 2010; Source: Mercury News | The $175,000 that California State Senator Jeff Denham gave from his state senate political account to Remembering the Brave, a nonprofit group headquartered in Colorado, is being questioned by critics. The group ran a swath of television and radio spots featuring Denham shortly before a hotly contested primary for a congressional seat and some believe that the strategy was simply a way to (illegally) buy more exposure for his campaign for national office with state funds.—Ruth McCambridge
