Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) has partnered with Counterstream Media to co-publish Peace & Riot’s latest issue—a collection of more than 20 voices exploring climate leadership on the frontlines, in communities, and in the culture. 

As the United States marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, Peace & Riot asks what freedom, justice, and equality require in an era of climate crisis — when extreme heat, pollution, and ecosystem collapse fall hardest on Black, Brown, Indigenous, and historically marginalized communities. 

The articles explore Indigenous stewardship, environmental racism, organizing, and community-led climate solutions. Contributors include Robert Bordeaux, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Shilpi Chhotray, Patrisse Cullors, Dr. PennElys Droz, Candice Fortin, Yessenia Funes, among many others.
