This edition of the Nonprofit Quarterly focuses on advancing two conversations that the editors saw as being “stuck.” But when we talk about stuck conversations, we are not simply addressing polarized communications but also conversations avoided or badly framed. The two topics we have taken up here are (1) ideas around community wealth building, and ways in which social enterprise might really matter to the economy (and what, in our understanding of it, is holding it back); and (2) questions around whether donor-advised funds, which make up an ever-expanding portion of the charitable giving sector, are in need of regulatory attention—and if so, what kind.

Our Voices Are Our Power.

Journalism, nonprofits, and multiracial democracy are under attack. At NPQ, we fight back by sharing stories and essential insights from nonprofit leaders and workers—and we pay every contributor.

Can you help us protect nonprofit voices?
