Red Sox “Beard Balls” to Be Auctioned for Charity (Ugh)

Unsure of what to get that hard to please special someone for the holidays? Shaving mogul Gillette is auctioning off “beard balls” made from the facial hair of Red Sox players David “Big Papi” Ortiz and Shane Victorino. Bids on eBay started at $100, and now stand at $2,025 for David Ortiz.

Appropriately, the charity chosen to benefit is Movember, the group that encourages men to grow mustaches in November, collecting money from their friends and family to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.—Ruth McCambridge
