Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Coty Poynter is a writer and editor with over eight years of editorial experience, from writing and developmental editing to process implementation. He earned his Master of Science in Professional Writing at Towson University, where he studied under Michael Downs and Jeannie Vanasco. He was the recipient of the spring 2022 Good Contrivance Farm Fellowship, the 2022-2023 State of Maryland Delegate Scholarship, and the 2022 NY State Summer Writers Institute Scholarship. His work has been published in Black Fox Literary Magazine, Equinox, Grub Street, and various other outlets. Currently, he lives in Virginia Beach, VA, with his partner, their tortoiseshell cat, Pudge, and their Siberian Husky, Tycho.
